Sunday Service is where we gather together for worship, Bible teaching, and prayer. It is also where we invite friends to hear the simple truth about who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
When you're looking for a church, you might have questions like "What is going to happen?" "What should I wear?" "What will the worship be like?" "Will there be people there like me?" We want to help you feel comfortable visiting Christland Church, so here's some answers to common questions.
There's no need to dress up; feel free to come in casual clothes. When you walk in, people will greet you and be friendly but not invade your space. Free coffee, bagels, and donuts are available before the 10:00am service. You are welcome to bring your food and drinks into the auditorium.
We have an excellent kids' program with trusted and trained volunteers where your children can learn about Jesus in an age appropriate way and in a safe, exciting environment. Our program is designed for your children from newborns to 5th graders. We are open to receive your kids 20 minutes prior to each service. Our hospitality team and signs will direct you toward the kids' space. High school and middle school students attend Sunday service in the auditorium with the adults. Our youth program, Revolution, gathers on Wednesday nights for teaching, prayer, and hanging out. Visit the Kids & Youth page for more information.
We start our services with worship by singing songs to God. The worship music is current, ranging from modern songs to gospel hymns. You will see biblical responses to the Holy Spirit's presence like raised hands or lifted voices. We just want you to worship in a manner that's genuine; for us at Christland, this means low-key, non-hype, heartfelt responses to the Living God. We also set aside time during our services for those who would like to give tithes and offerings. If you are visiting, there is absolutely no obligation to give.
After announcements, one of our pastors will teach from the English Standard Version of the Bible. If you don't own a Bible, we would love to give you one. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God; we teach from a Biblical text rather than teaching our own opinion. We aim to teach the Bible in a way that is clear and understandable to all, regardless of church experience. We hope the teaching challenges those listening to put into practice all the Bible teaches.
At the end of our service, during our final song of worship, anyone who wants prayer will be invited forward to receive prayer from someone who is trained and trusted. Nobody will pressure you to go forward, but the opportunity is there if you have things you'd like God's help with.
The service lasts approximately an hour and twenty minutes. Please feel free to hangout and meet people. We would definitely like to meet you! For parents, please pick up your kids within twenty minutes of the service ending.
